Immigrating to Israel from the UK in 2000, Joe brings 10 years of Media and Marketing know-how to HonestReporting. Former Commercial Director of London's oldest advertising agency, and Strategic Planner for Saatchi & Saatchi Tel Aviv, Joe's focus is on extending the reach and impact of HonestReporting projects, to Media consumers and producers alike. He is responsible for the day to day running of the organisation, its financial management and project development.
Joe's focus is on delivering efficiency and professionalism as HR moves into new technological and geographical spheres that include the expansion of media monitoring services to cover broadcast media, as well as the establishment of new local service sites. The creation of HonestReporting UK, as well as the Media Resource Centre in Jerusalem are the focus of his work through the next phase of the organisation's growth. In addition to that, to provide tools and materials to international student groups and programs seeking to benefit from HR's expertise in monitoring, understanding and responding effectively to media bias.

Simon joined the HonestReporting team in November 2005 following several years working in a variety of non-profit organisations. During his years as a student of International Studies and Politics at Birmingham University and History of International Relations at the London School of Economics, Simon was a keen Jewish student activist, serving on the National Executive of the UJS as well as being elected as a student representative to the Board of Deputies of British Jews.
Upon completion of his Masters degree specialising in the history of the Arab-Israeli conflict, Simon helped to organise informational events for students and members of the Jewish community looking to move to Israel in his role as British Aliya Movement Coordinator for the Jewish Agency. In 2000, Simon became Public Affairs Officer for the Board of Deputies, playing a major role in dealing with a hostile media following the outbreak of Palestinian violence in September of that year.
After immigrating to Israel in 2001, Simon worked for BICOM, writing their Daily Briefs for 18 months before serving a short period in the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit where he continues to perform reserve duty for both the Foreign Media and Jewish Organisations Desks. Simon is also an expert on the role of non-governmental organisations in the Arab-Israeli conflict having spent a year as Managing Editor of NGO Monitor, a project of the highly-respected Jerusalem Centre for Public Affairs. Simon is now putting his expertise and experience into HonestReporting's new UK-dedicated site, providing content and coverage attuned to British Media and the needs of the UK Community.
